The row over the development of the new National Children’s Hospital intensified over the weekend, when health minister Mary Harney said former hospital board chairman Philip Lynch has acted beyond his brief.

The row over the development of the new National Children’s Hospital intensified over the weekend, when health minister Mary Harney said former hospital board chairman Philip Lynch has acted beyond his brief.

Lynch resigned from his position just over a week ago, because of “ fundamental differences’’ with the minister on key parts of the €650 million facility, which is to be built adjacent to the Mater Hospital.
