Four in every five childminders are not applying for the €630 childcare state grant available to them, according to a childminding advisory officer in Dublin.

Four in every five childminders are not applying for the €630 childcare state grant available to them, according to a childminding advisory officer in Dublin.

‘‘The uptake of the grant has not been good. It only came online two years ago, so it’s very new. A lot of childminders don’t know the funding is out there,” said Tracey Nelson, childminding advisory officer with Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown county childcare committee.
