The Chief Justice has warned the government to beware of undermining the ‘‘integrity of the family unit’’ in any Constitutional referendum on the rights of children.

The Chief Justice has warned the government to beware of undermining the ‘‘integrity of the family unit’’ in any Constitutional referendum on the rights of children.

Writing in the foreword to a new Round Hall book on Child Law by solicitor Geoffrey Shannon, Mr Justice John Murray said the welfare of children in Ireland had always been centred on their membership of the family.
