Chemo drugs recalled amid contamination fears

Food poisoning bacteria found in Dublin factory batch

Chemotherapy drugs have been recalled following fears of contamination during manufacturing.

Dublin-based pharmacy Fannin Compounding issued a safety alert after a machine it uses to make the drug was found to be contaminated.

The bacteria, which can cause potentially life-threatening gastro-intestinal infections, was found in batches of drugs during routine testing.
