Chemical weapons watchdog wins Nobel Peace Prize

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has won this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has won this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee honoured the Hague, Netherlands-based global chemical watchdog "for its extensive efforts to eliminate chemical weapons."

The Committee said that by giving the award to this body, it was seeking to contribute to the elimination of chemical weapons.
