A statement [on the club's website](http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2759942,00.html) outlined the club's plan to create a new, state-of-the-art football stadium on the site.
The football club has made the bid in conjunction with Almacantar, an architecture firm.
