We are not sure of the origin of this recipe, but we have been enjoying steamed pudding at Ballyvolane since I was a child - it is one of our favourite puddings. It's stodgy and delicious, and the combination of the warm sponge, runny golden syrup and lots of whipped cream make it irresistible.
