With the Meath East by-election taking place on Wednesday, the candidates are pulling out all the stops on the campaign trail, writes Niamh Connolly.

If two-year-olds in the town of Ashbourne could vote, Labour Party candidate Eoin Holmes would be a surefire bet in this week's Meath East by-election. The father of four can hardly pass an infant on the doorsteps without a joke with the kids before he delivers his election pitch to the adult who can actually cast a ballot on Wednesday.
