Channel 6’s first managing director resigns

Channel 6 is hunting for a new managing director after Martin Drake, a former Discovery Channel executive who was headhunted from London, decided to return to Britain.

The fledgling television station is not yet three months old. Pat Donnelly, one of the founders of Channel 6, said the parting had been ‘‘quite amicable’’.

He said Drake, whose wife’s career was still based in London and who had moved here temporarily, had decided to go back to the English capital. Last week, Drake’s Dublin PA said he was not expected to return. Donnelly said he was disappointed by Drake’s departure....
