Irish retail brand Champion Sports has dropped the word ‘Sports’ from its most recently opened outlet to reflect its new focus on fashion wear.

The company opened its 23rd shop in City Square, Waterford, last week. It will revamp its Grafton Street shop as a ‘Champion’ store in the coming weeks.

The move is designed to make the chain stand out in the increasingly crowded sportswear market.
