The Central Bank is waiting for clarification from the European Commission about the effects of a decision by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) unfreezing the bank accounts of terror suspects.
Six Irish bank accounts of terror suspects were frozen under a regulation passed in 2001, following the September 11 attacks in New York and Washington.
Last Wednesday, the ECJ set aside an order freezing the funds of Saudi Arabian and Swedish organisations under the same regulation.
