The Central Bank has paid €7 million for an unfinished site on Dublin's North Wall Quay that was originally designated as a new headquarters for Anglo Irish Bank.
It bought the site from the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) and is expected to establish its own headquarters there.
NAMA has welcomed the formal agreement on the deal.
