Celia Larkin to leave NCA

Celia Larkin, the former partner of ex-taoiseach Bertie Ahern, is leaving the board of the National Consumer Agency (NCA), writes John Burke.

The businesswoman was appointed to the NCA board in 2007 by Ahern when he was taoiseach. Last year, she resisted calls to quit the board from Eddie Hobbs, the financial adviser who also sat on the board.

Corkman Hobbs stood down from the board, claiming the NCA was ‘‘hammered and hamstrung’’ by controversy over Larkin’s presence on it.
