C&C looking further afield to sweeten the taste

Magners is being marketed to the expatriate community to offset the volatile Irish and British markets, writes Samantha McCaughren

Cider maker C&C is struggling to maintain Irish profits in a very depressed drinks market, with growth prospects now firmly tied to its plans for Britain and, increasingly, further afield.

The company is pushing out its business in the US and Australia, targeting the expat community.

The react ion to increased marketing in these markets is understood to be promising, although it is still a small part of the business.
