CarVal can keep details secret, court rules

A decision in the Commercial Court last week has cleared the way for the giant investment fund CarVal and its peers to keep key details about their Irish loan acquisitions secret during court cases.

In an ongoing case involving Noel Comer, a former debtor of Anglo Irish Bank whose loan was bought from the IBRC by CarVal, judge Peter Kelly decided that key information about the acquisition could be redacted.
