Developer Liam Carroll and his wife Roisin are planning to demolish a five-storey building of 47 apartments to make way for an office block.

Carroll wants to build a six-storey, 4,500 square metre office building on the site at the New Maltings in Dublin 8.

Market sources said the move was further evidence that Carroll was shifting his focus away from new homes and towards commercial property.
