A Carlow tool factory is facing job losses after announcing multi-million-euro losses last weekend. Lapple, which opened in Carlow in 1974, employs about 250 workers.

In a company statement, Graser said that price competition from low-cost regions, along with lack of orders, had affected the Irish and German tool plants.
