A car scam costing Irish consumers thousands of euro is still in operation ten months after being reported to the authorities.
A car scam costing Irish consumers thousands of euro is still in operation ten months after being reported to the authorities.
The Garda fraud unit, the Office of the Director of Consumer Affairs (ODCA) and the Office of Fair Trade (OFT) in Britain were informed of the scam.
The scam works through ‘vehicle matching’ by British companies, which guarantee to match a car buyer and seller in return for a fee.
