Motor industry experts are not expecting new car sales this year to exceed the record total of more than 235,000 new cars sold in 2000. While the January figure of 46,179 units is indeed a record for a single month in Ireland, best predictions for the 2007 total only come to 193,000 cars or thereabouts.
