Johnson & Perrott, the family firm that owns the Avis car rental licence for Ireland, made a profit of €5.7 million on sales of €125 million last year.
The Cork company, one of the oldest family businesses in the state, had retained profits of more than €47 million and shareholders' funds of almost €50 million, according to accounts just filed.
