But one thing will be missing from Super Bowl XLIII as, for the first time in more than a decade, no US carmaker will advertise during America’s most-watched sports event. Last year, car companies, including foreign manufacturers, ran 5.5 minutes of Super Bowl ads, more than any other industry.
