Cantor's Dolmen buy is 'show of confidence'

Global financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald is planning to become a primary dealer in Irish government bonds, writes Samantha McCaughren.

It is almost two years since rumours about Dolmen getting into bed with Cantor Fitzgerald began to circulate. Last week, the long courtship ended and the marriage was finally consummated.

Market sources said that the deal was re-ignited in the past couple of months as a result of the Irish government returning to the bond market.
