Cantor to become primary Irish bond dealer following Dolmen takeover

US investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald has bought Dolmen Stockbrokers and plans to become a primary dealer in Irish government bonds following its acquisition of Dolmen.

US investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald has bought Dolmen Stockbrokers and plans to become a primary dealer in Irish government bonds following its acquisition of Dolmen.

"We do plan on becoming a primary dealer in governments in Ireland," Cantor chief executive Shawn Matthews told RTE Radio. He said the bank needed to get regulatory approval but intended to be a bigger player in the bond market than Dolmen had been.
