Cancer row in hospital rumbles on

A long-standing dispute between a leading oncologist, the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) and St Vincent’s Hospital has been referred to Ombudsman Emily O’Reilly after Minister for Health Mary Harney refused to instigate a formal investigation.

A long-standing dispute between a leading oncologist, the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) and St Vincent’s Hospital has been referred to Ombudsman Emily O’Reilly after Minister for Health Mary Harney refused to instigate a formal investigation.

Consultant oncologist and cancer researcher Professor John Crown referred the matter to the minister last year and has instigated High Court proceedings against the Dublin hospital.
