Cancer remains leading cause of death, illness in Ireland

Figures released by Irish Life reveal that cancer accounts for over 44 per cent of all life insurance claims in Ireland.

The claims book details €168 million in claims for 2013

Cancer remains the single biggest cause of both Life Insurance and Specified Illness Cover claims in Ireland, according to figures released today by Irish Life.

The figures detail the illnesses and conditions which led to payments of over €168 million in claims in 2013 and show that cancer remains the biggest cause of both Life Insurance claims (44 per cent) and Specified Illness Cover claims (58 per cent) in Ireland.
