Property prices are rising fast, but they are recovering from a very low base, writes Dermot O’Leary.

After making headlines as one of the most spectacular crashes in the developed world, Irish property has been getting attention for more positive reasons lately.

Irish commercial property has, for instance, returned 27 per cent for investors for the year to the end of June, while residential prices in the Dublin area have been rising at their fastest pace since 1999.
