The government must provide "pension parity" for public and private sector workers, according to a paper from Invesco, the pension and investment consultants.

"We believe the government should cease its plans for the pension levy and not proceed with any further tax relief reductions to pension contributions," the paper states. "Together, the pension levy and tax relief cuts are a clear disincentive to make private pension coverage and could further erode the level of coverage...
