Broker group PIBA has called for a closer examination of hikes in insurance premiums for women, ahead of the introduction of unisex premiums later this year.

Last March, the European Court of Justice ruled that, from December 21 this year, insurers and life companies would no longer be allowed to use gender when pricing financial products, including motor insurance, life cover and annuities.
