Pensions Ombudsman Paul Kenny will call for the regulation of income continuance plans, which pay income to employees who become disabled or sick, in his annual report, which is due to be published this September.

As most income continuance plans are contracts between an employer and the insurance company, there is no legal protection for the employee using that plan.
