Cabinet tensions over plan to ban outdoor alcohol advertising

A plan to ban outdoor billboards that advertise alcohol has raised serious questions for pubs and key tourist attractions, according to the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar.

Varadkar has already voiced concerns about a health memo due to go to cabinet that would ban drinks companies sponsoring major sports events by 2020, and outlaw new sports sponsorship deals by 2016.
