Byrne’s World of Wonder pots the black with five new stores

Byrne’s World of Wonder, one of Ireland’s largest toy retailers, is planning to open five new superstores over the next two years as part of a major expansion drive.

The company, which is owned by Wexford businessman Jim Byrne and his family, intends to open three outlets before Christmas and at least two more next year.

The group has 16 stores, most of which are in the south-east and midlands. The group recently opened a toy superstore in Naas, Co Kildare, and will launch its second store in Kilkenny city in the next few weeks.
