Businesses waiting to be reimbursed for redundancy payment rebates are to get some breathing space from the Revenue Commissioners.
The tax authorities have agreed new measures with the Tánaiste, Mary Coughlan, which will allow those who have tax liabilities to have the rebate offset against the liabilities.
Revenue may also defer collection or an enforcement action that would normally follow a delayed payment of tax.
