The commentary part of our 50-minute Canary Wharf trip in a hip RIB (rigid inflatable boat) lulled me into a false sense of security.

Then, as the iconic Wharf rose in the east, tall tales of the Houses of Parliament, Custom House and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre were forgotten as James Bond music blared and the boat whipped from edge to edge, spurting spray.
