Management at Aer Lingus have agreed to further meetings and continued discussions with business groups in the Shannon region.

This follows meetings last Friday to discuss the relocation of the Shannon-Heathrow route to a new Belfast base from next year.

Dermot Mannion, chief executive of Aer Lingus, and John Sharman, the airline’s chairman, were presented with a survey of 200 companies in the Shannon region by employers body Ibec.
