Business interview: Cyril McGuire

The $129 million sale of his company Trintech has made Cyril McGuire a very wealthy man but, rather than rest on his laurels, he is still looking out for the next big opportunity

For Cyril McGuire, the new year most definitely means a new start. On Dec e m b e r 3 1, McGuire completed the sale of Trintech, the IT company he founded with his brother more than 20 years ago. He has formally resigned as chief executive and cleared out his belongings from his Dublin office.

All that’s left is to collect his final pay cheque this week: $28 million for his 21per cent stake in Trintech.
