Despite the recession, Irish venture capital firm Atlantic Bridge is predicting a busy period ahead, with new investments and company sales on the cards

Brian Long could never be accused of doing things by halves.

When the high tech boss decided to raise an investment fund in 2005, he called on a network of friends and contacts and pulled in €100 million from investors including Dermot Desmond, Denis O’Brien and Bill McCabe. Atlantic Bridge, a backer of high-potential tech firms, was born.
