Members of the SIPTU union at Bus Eireann have voted in favour of strike action from next week.

Bus Eireann: workers vote to strike

Members of the SIPTU union at Bus Eireann have voted in favour of strike action from next week.

The action is expected to affect services countrywide on January 17th following a ballot in which 91 per cent voted in favour. SIPTU warned the action could spread to other companies in the CIE group.

SIPTU Organiser, Willie Noone said members voted for strike due to the seriousness of the issues at stake and "the unacceptable unilateral actions...
