Bus Eireann reaches agreement with unions to end dispute

UPDATE: Bus Eireann has reached an agreement with trade unions to resolve an ongoing industrial dispute.

All Bus Eireann staff will make a contribution on a pro rata basis, the company said.

Bus Eireann is understood to have reached an agreement on a €5 million savings plan with trade unions to resolve an ongoing industrial dispute.

Bus Eireann spokesman Andrew McLindon said that the agreement would see a range of proposed cost saving measures introduced on June 1st and that this will protect 2,500 jobs in the company.
