Bus Eireann has lost its Supreme Court appeal against a €40,000 damages award to a widowed pensioner after accusing her of fraud.

Rose Ahern sued the company after an accident in November 2004 when a bus on which she was a passenger in Limerick braked sharply to avoid a car. Ahern fell from her seat and injured her face, chest, thumb and leg.
