NBRU members vote for strike action

Bus Eireann services are facing disruption after more than 1,000 members of the National Bus and Railworkers Union (NBRU) voted in favour of strike action.

Of the NBRU's 1,100 members, 92 per cent voted in favour of industrial action with just eight per cent against.

Although the union is legally obliged to give a week’s notice of strike action, the union said staff would not accept proposed new cuts at Bus Eireann from next Sunday.
