Burton won't rule out a move against Gilmore

Labour party sources acknowledge increasing pressure on Joan Burton to move against Gilmore.

Social Protection Minister Joan Burton left a question mark over the leadership of Eamon Gilmore yesterday, as party sources acknowledged increasing pressure on her to move to replace Gilmore.

She said the party had received a “shellacking” – the phrase used by US president Barack Obama after the US mid-term elections – from the people who voted.
