Activity in the building sector rose for the sixth month in a row in February as growth in new orders picked up, new data showed.

The Ulster Bank construction purchasing managers index (PMI), a seasonally-adjusted index designed to track activity in the sector, stood at 56.2 in February. This was broadly unchanged from January's reading of 56.4 and well above the 50 level that signals expansion.
