A Kildare construction business that once employed about 100 people has collapsed with debts of more than €3.6 million.

A Kildare construction business that once employed about 100 people has collapsed with debts of more than €3.6 million. Elk House Ireland Company, an Athy firm that specialised in timberframe housing, ceased trading three weeks ago following a series of internal difficulties.

The firm was placed into provisional liquidation by the High Court last week following a petition by its directors.
