Hundreds of construction workers are facing layoffs over the coming fortnight and many will be told not to return to work after the traditional August break.

The Building and Allied Trades Union (Batu) and Construction Industry Federation have confirmed the layoffs are looming and that they will be notified to workers when builders take their holidays at the start of next month.
