Builder without borders

The birth of the Celtic Tiger allowed Michael Taggart to return home after a decade building houses in London. Taggart Holdings is now worth more than €250 million.

Like many of his peers, Michael Taggart left Ireland in the 1980s to find work in London. While he was building timberframe houses around the English capital, his brother John was bricklaying in Iran and Germany.

It's 20 years since then and now Taggart Holdings, the construction and property development company the pair founded in 1989, controls a landbank worth around €200 million, turned over €46 million last year and employs 58 full-time staff.
