Budget 2016: Restaurants and hotels breathe sigh of relief

Relief in the sector as Noonan leaves 9 per cent Vat rate untouched

The country’s restaurateurs and hoteliers owners can breathe a sigh of relief at the news that Michael Noonan has retained the 9 per cent Vat rate for the sector.

But with the finance minister making reference to Dublin’s booming hotel sector in his budget speech, it seems that the days of the special rate for this sector may be numbered.
