“Pathetic” was how Fianna Fail’s finance spokesman Michael McGrath astutely described Finance Minister Michael Noonan’s brief, bland and profoundly lacking treatment of the housing crisis in Budget 2016.

“You’d have been better off saying nothing about it all,” McGrath said.

A budget the government called ‘building on recovery’ had very little to do with building at all.
