Jobs and Enterprise minister Richard Bruton has claimed that Budget 2014 will deliver 48,000 jobs next year, which is a fairly lofty aspiration.
Job creation is seen as central to the recovery of the country's economy, and it is an area that this administration have somewhat struggled with, until recent times. Regeneration of the construction sector - which has all but collapsed - was one of the areas this Budget focused on, through a stimulus packages.
