Budget 2012: Noonan focuses on spending
A number of measures which will affect spending, rather than taxation, were introduced by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan, writes Jim Ryan of Ernst & Young.
Michael Noonan, the Minister for Finance, made no increases in income tax in Budget 2012, in line with the Programme for Government.
In his own words, "wages and salaries in January will be no less than wages and salaries in December, so people will continue to have discretion on how they spend their income".
