People find exercising easier when having fun or doing it with friends, so personal trainer Elise Lindsay has devised a new programme that takes the pain out of working out

We girls need our friends for companionship, support, fun and conversation.

And it seems that we may also need them for keeping fit as well. According to research carried out by sportswear firm Shock Absorber, women are more likely to attend a new workout class if a friend is going, while nine out of ten would be more likely to stick to a fitness regime when encouraged by a friend.
